Cops in Indianapolis, Indiana, hit the streets armed with a recently contraption designed to help them crack fine tune on recently Year’s Eve revelers. Invented by an Indiana University chemist named Rolla Harger, it’s called the “drunkometer” and it’s the offset portable device that can bill with some accuracy how much alcohol a person has in his or her organisation. Suspected drunk drivers blow out into a balloon and their breath is mixed with a chemical result. If it turns dark, they’re likely too drunk to drive. Read more
