Electronic Blood Pressure Monitors Can Provide More Accuracy Than Older Devices

A recent study has shown that electronic blood pressure monitors, also known as oscillometric devices, are more accurate than traditional sphygmomanometer for measuring blood pressure. Also, an accurate reading requires patients to relax for 10 or 15 minutes before taking the measurement, which is not done for time restriction and practical reasons. Therefore, there is a high possibility that patients are taking medication for hypertension when they really don’t have high blood pressure. Additional details click here.
